WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.

Recap of the Sanditon Season 2 Finale

Charlotte begins Season 2 Episode 6 by explaining the reality behind Colonel Lennox and Alexander’s hostility against Alison and Georgiana. Later, Captain Fraser pays Alison a final visit but is unable to express his thoughts, leaving her depressed. Instead, he gives her a departure gift that she can unwrap later. In other news, Charlotte and Alexander have another sweet moment, but it is cut short when Mrs. Wheatley notifies them that Leonora has gone missing.

Meanwhile, the little girl arrives at the army camp and searches for Colonel Lennox. Charlotte is still troubled by Alexander’s confession to her, so she chooses to face the colonel about being her father. Fortunately, Alexander and Charlotte learn of this via Augusta and arrive at the camp to retrieve Leonora, while a stunned Colonel Lennox denies being her father. Esther’s madness worsens at the Denham estate, and the doctor declares that she must be institutionalized.

A happy Edward plots her death by ordering Clara to poison her. Clara, on the other hand, recognizes his selfish motivations and thinks that he is only exploiting her and George for the money Lady Denham promised them. As a result, on the day of their wedding, she reveals his entire scheme in front of everyone and stands up for Esther. Lady Denham, who is furious, decides to punish them both, but Esther defends Clara and accepts her apologies.

Later, Clara quietly departs Sanditon and entrusts George’s care to Esther, who gladly welcomes him as her son. Edward, on the other hand, is deprived of his army positions because he fails to pay his commissions. As a result, he is compelled to accept Lady Denham’s punishment of living at her entire mercy as her servant.

Tom joins forces with Arthur to contact Colonel Lennox and obtain the shopkeepers’ pay in order to save the Parker family name. Tom challenges the colonel to a game of cards, stating that if the latter wins, he will personally pay the shopkeepers, whereas if he wins, the army will have to pay off all their obligations and leave Sanditon forever. After a stressful round of cards, Tom emerges triumphant and is able to pay the merchants respectfully with the prize money. Colonel Lennox and his soldiers eventually pack their belongings and head for their next assignment in India.

Do Charlotte and Alexander End Up Together in Sanditon Season 2?

Alexander and Colonel Lennox argue about Lucy after discovering Leonora at the army barracks. The colonel mocks him about Charlotte, implying that he will ruin her life like he did his late wife’s. This puts Alexander in a moral quandary since he feels unworthy of giving Charlotte any love or happiness and is frightened that the past may repeat itself. As a result, the next time she approaches him, he pushes her away and tells her that he only considers her an employee.

Alexander goes on to say that the previous moments they shared were a mistake. Mrs. Wheatley and Augusta beg him to bring Charlotte back by making him see how favorably she has altered his and their lives when she leaves the job and goes away. Alexander races to the Parker home, determined to tell her how he feels, but is unable to express it adequately. Charlotte misinterprets his statements and believes he only wants her back as the girls’ governess because she feels insulted.

When Charlotte declines Alexander’s offer, he walks away, leaving a lot of terribly unspoken between them. Two months later, she abandons the idea of love entirely and, to her surprise, becomes engaged to Ralph Sterling, the man her father had originally chosen for her. At the same time, a saddened Alexander seeks for a change of scenery and travels to London with Augusta and Leonora for an undetermined period of time. Even if he and Charlotte are separated, it remains to be seen whether they will cross paths again.

Will Alison and Captain Fraser Marry?

After Captain Fraser’s unexpected arrival, Alison loses all hope of finding her happy ending with him, and he, too, is disappointed at not having summoned the confidence to confess his feelings for her. Captain Carter, to his astonishment, motivates him to not let her go, so he covertly seeks Charlotte and Mary for assistance. Alison is on her way out of Wellington when Charlotte begs her to open the gift Captain Fraser gave her. She discovers a poetry book containing the identical poem that Captain Carter had given her while courting her.

Alison discovers she has been in love with Captain Fraser all along and rushes to the army barracks to locate him. When she arrives, the unit has already left for their duty in India, much to her dismay. She returns to the Parker home, only to discover Captain Fraser waiting for her at the door. They both express their affections for each other and he asks her to be his wife. After two months, the pair marries in Wellington in front of their loved ones and prepares their future together.

Elopement for Georgiana and Charles?

While Georgiana prepares to flee with Charles, Sidney’s possessions arrive from Antigua at the Parker home. In them, Mary discovers a letter that astounds everyone. According to the report, Charles is the one who filed a lawsuit against Georgiana to recover her fortune, compelling Sidney to travel to Antigua unannounced before he died. Fortunately, Charles lost the case in court, but he then plotted how to deceive Georgiana.

The Parkers are taken aback by this news and hasten to warn her before she makes any rash decisions. Mary arrives just as Georgiana is going to see Charles and tells her the whole truth. Georgiana, feeling deeply betrayed and exploited by her lover, goes to meet him nevertheless and confronts him about his heinous intentions. He admits to lying but claims to have genuine affections for her, but she berates him and chooses to remain in Sanditon with the Parkers.

Following Charles’ departure, Georgiana reads Sidney’s letter, which implies that her mother may still be alive someplace. Overwhelmed by this revelation, she determines to focus her efforts on finding her mother and restoring her rights in any case. The Parkers, particularly Arthur, offer to assist her in her quest.
