The narrative returns to the current day in ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ season 2 episode 6, titled ‘Never Avenge Yourselves, But Leave It to the Wrath,’ and begins up precisely where episode 4 left off. As the four motorcycle-riding shooters empty their magazines on the tour bus, the enraged Jesse (Danny McBride) and Amber Gemstone (Cassidy Freeman) emerge with guns blazing.

Even shooting doesn’t appear to be able to keep the Gemstones at bay for long. When the four assailants stop firing and try to flee, Jesse steps outside the bus with his gun pulled and begins shooting, hitting nothing. But suddenly Amber appears with her own gun and shoots one of the motorcycles, compelling its rider to flee with the others. Following that, the police are notified. The sheriff makes a crucial point. Despite the fact that the attackers shot a large number of bullets, none of them injured Jesse or Amber. As a result, they wonder if this is really a complex hoax.

Jesse feels envious as his wife receives acclaim for her shooting abilities from their friends and congregation members, while he is mocked for missing all of his shots. Pontius, his middle son, even mocks him. Jesse persuades his close male friends and members of the Second Chance prayer group to join him to Memphis to threaten Junior (Eric Roberts), whom he believes is the perpetrator of the crime.

Judy’s continual desire for validation and self-centeredness irritates Eli once more when the Gemstone family meets with local law officials in the aftermath of the attack on Jesse and Amber. Later, BJ goes to talk with the patriarch of the Gemstone family. In a heartwarming scenario, BJ assists the elderly man in realizing that Judy is not that dissimilar to him. Their family is the epitome of dysfunction. This manifests itself in an unusual way in Judy’s case. She has a tendency to hold things together until she can’t. When they do come out, they are frequently strange, boisterous, and even hostile. They do, however, always emanate from a place of pain.

This is possibly the longest talk these two men have ever had. By the conclusion, BJ seemed to have earned his father-in-respect. law’s Meanwhile, Kelvin loses his status as God Squad leader to Torsten, the squad’s self-proclaimed most powerful member. Judy appears to recognize Tiffany’s predicament after being chastised by her father and treats her with remarkable gentleness. She explains to the other woman that “Baby” Billy had abandoned his family before.

Is Eli Dead in The Righteous Gemstones Season 2 Episode 6?

In the episode’s final scene, Eli is attacked by what appears to be the same bunch of motorcycles from earlier. They, however, do not miss this time, unlike Jesse and Eli. Eli is shot several times in his automobile. His fate is unknown at the end of the episode. Despite his enemies’ best efforts, the Gemstone patriarch is most certainly not dead.

This isn’t ‘Game of Thrones,’ where death is a constant element of the plot. The character of John Goodman serves as a rock for the rest of his family. Taking Eli out for the sake of sensationalism would be a ridiculous waste of time. Whether or if Eli dies, the mystery surrounding the attackers will continue to unravel on its own. Furthermore, a substantial chunk of Eli’s past remains unexplored, including what appears to be an abusive relationship with his father.

Who is attempting to assassinate Eli?

Junior is without a doubt the most obvious suspect. That’s the conclusion the show wants its viewers to reach. Jesse feels the same way. He arms his companions with what he claims are precise scientific replicas of the slingshot used by David to defeat Goliath, and then proceeds to threaten Junior. Shortly afterwards, Eli is attacked. The inference here is that Junior not only chose to disregard the threat, but also retaliated savagely in order to make the Gemstones realize who they are dealing with.

However, as previously said, Junior does not appear to be capable of ruthlessness. In fact, he appears to be quite inept and an underachiever. Life hasn’t turned out the way he had hoped, but that doesn’t mean he’d pay assassins to go after someone. As a result, the Lissonses are the only other option. They stand to gain a lot if Eli is removed from the picture.

They most likely staged the attack on Jesse and Amber as a ruse to keep them (the Lissonses) from being linked to Eli’s death. The Gemstone Ministries is said to be heavily involved with Zion’s Landing. But with Eli on top, that was becoming increasingly difficult. As a result, the Lissonses most likely chose to impose certain adjustments.
