Gyuutarou and Daki, a brother-sister duo, are the main antagonists of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc’ or ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen.’ They’ve been living in Tokyo’s red-light district, Yoshiwara, for several decades and have even managed to track down a few Hashiras. Nothing could prepare them for what happens when the duo faces Tanjirou Kamado and his allies because they had never tasted loss. But what happens after the two lose the high-stakes battle in the Entertainment District Arc? Let us investigate. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Gyuutarou and Daki, Did They End Up in Hell?

Gyuutarou and Daki did, in fact, end themselves in hell. Following the decapitation of the Upper-Rank Six demons, the brother-sister combo begins to dispute with each other. They blame each other for their setback and refuse to accept responsibility for the loss. In a fit of rage, Daki labels Gyuutarou ugly and states that she regrets being born as his sister. At the time, the principal holder of the Upper-Rank Six was completely unaware that Daki did not truly mean what she had just blurted out, and her comments had a significant impact on him.

Gyuutarou was overcome with grief when his sister’s beheaded head dissolved into oblivion right in front of his eyes. He began to recall his childhood in Rashomon River Bank, a poor area of the Entertainment District. Gyuutarou was constantly disliked for his terrible visage from a young age, and the deplorable surroundings of his origin prompted his mother to attempt to kill him on multiple times. He always managed to survive, and when his sister was born, his life began to change for the better. They learnt to battle for their existence, but they made a lot of enemies in the process.

When an Upper-Rank demon offered the brother-sister duo to join Muzan Kibutsuji’s forces, Gyuutarou’s only reason for happiness appeared to be slipping from his hands. As a result, they shared the Upper-Rank Six and were responsible for the deaths of several Hashira. Gyuutarou claimed in his final moments that he regretted nothing because he had only experienced hatred from the world from his birth. After becoming a demon, he turned the tables and ended up punishing everyone he met.

But there was one thing that really hurt him. As an older brother, he failed to provide Daki with the proper environment and lessons for him to thrive. The only thing he was sorry about was disappointing his sister, who was his pride and joy. He intended to change it after their deaths. He attempted to cut all ties with Daki in the afterlife so that she may finally find peace in Heaven. His sister, on the other hand, objected and begged forgiveness for her harsh words. Daki admitted that she only stated those things because she was aware of her own frailty.

Daki refused to accept responsibility for their setback, which enraged and infuriated her. She was no longer running away from her faults, which had resulted in the deaths of the two demons. Daki held her brother and vowed she would never abandon him again, even if it meant going to hell with him. Gyuutarou is moved by her comments and does not dispute back as the brother-sister duo walks peacefully into the hellfire, satisfied that they can rely on and support each other.
