‘Angelyne,’ by Peacock, tells the story of a typical Los Angeles celebrity who was one of the first to symbolize the now-common phenomena of being famous simply for being famous. Angelyne becomes well-known thanks to dozens of billboards cleverly placed throughout the city, and she even appears in a few films. However, journalists quickly begin to delve into her history, a subject about which the titular character remains tight-lipped.

The show, created by Nancy Oliver and based on stories written by journalist Gary Baum for The Hollywood Reporter, overlays some strange fantasy elements over the true events shown. Critics and audiences have also been lured to main actress Emmy Rossum’s amazing transition into the 1980s and 1990s pink-clad busty superstar. Season 1 ends on an unusual note involving spaceships, so you’re probably wondering where the plot continues from there. Here’s all we know about the second season of ‘Angelyne.’

Release Date for Angelyne Season 2

Season 1 of ‘Angelyne’ began on Peacock on May 19, 2022. All five episodes, each roughly an hour long, were released on the streaming site at the same time.

Season 2 appears unlikely. The show is marketed as a mini-series and, like other projects of this type, will have only one season. The first season’s tale spans a rather large time period, from Angelyne’s initial rise to fame in the late 1970s until 2017, when a piece disclosing her past and childhood is published in The Hollywood Reporter. The series also incorporates the article’s results, which depict Angelyne as a youngster and, briefly, as a teenager. Season 1 thus covers a significant portion of Angelyne’s story, including the height of her reputation as the “billboard queen.”

Furthermore, the play is based on Baum’s articles about Angelyne and is thus largely constrained by the scope of the journalistic piece. Despite some fantastical elements (such as the picture of a spaceship and a charming pink control room), the tale pulls the majority of its contents from the articles. As a result, the source material for ‘Angelyne’ is nearly exhausted in season 1, making additional seasons doubtful.

Of course, because the actual Angelyne is still alive, the tale of the show can continue to follow her career. However, much of the interest stems from the icon’s enigmatic past, which is gradually revealed over season 1. Angelyne’s backstory is almost completely disclosed by the end of the first season, including facts about how her parents met in Nazi death camps and ultimately immigrated to America. As a result, the mystery behind the show’s key character has been explained, and prospective future seasons will be short on material.

‘Angelyne’ fans may be upset to learn that another season is doubtful. There is still a chance that other documentaries, as well as future series or films centered on the pink-clad LA legend, will be greenlit in the future. That being said, a second season of ‘Angelyne’ is quite doubtful at this time.
