Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie Recap Episode 5

When exam week is finished, Shikimori and her pals board a train and head straight to the river, where they want to unwind. When they arrive, they are all captivated by the natural beauty of the location. They don’t spend any time in getting things ready to start cooking for the picnic. Shikimori becomes anxious when Izumi picks up the knife to cut some vegetables, while others fear that he probably doesn’t know anything about cooking.

However, to their astonishment, Izumi remains cool throughout and appears to have a lot of experience. He not only slices the vegetables with ease, but he also prepares a delicious lunch for his companions. Shikimori, Hachimitsu, Inuzuka, and Nekozaki are blown away by how delicious the food is. Izumi’s girlfriend is inspired by his culinary abilities and attempts to prepare a dish for her pals as well.

When her partner eats it, though, he can’t help but spit it out. But, in order not to disappoint Shikimori, who has clearly worked hard, he consumes the food without complaint, despite his girlfriend’s protests. They all go play along the river after they finish their lunch. Shikimori is apprehensive about Izumi’s reaction to her new bikini, which she purchased at the mall. When Nekozaki understands what is bothering her, she confides in her.

Meanwhile, Izumi finds himself in a less congested section of the river, where he sees a girl being swept away by the water current, evidently distressed because she has no one to turn to for assistance. Izumi dives into the sea, oblivious to his own safety, and attempts to calm the girl. He then manages to pull her to safety, but just as he is about to exit the water, he has a cramp in his leg, and Izumi falls into the river and begins to die. His pals had already begun looking for him by this point.

They are aroused by the sound of a girl yelling for aid. When they arrive, they learn Izumi is on the edge of drowning. Shikimori wastes no time and dives immediately into the sea. She grabs Izumi’s arm and manages to pull him to safety just as he is about to pass out from lack of oxygen. Fortunately, Izumi is unharmed, and they do not need to transport him to the hospital. Shikimori and her companions don’t dwell on the tragedy and instead continue with their picnic.

When Izumi discovers Shikimori’s swimwear, he compliments her, which brightens her day. After spending as much time as they like in the river, Izumi and his companions go shopping at a local market. Shikimori offers her partner an indirect kiss while eating ice cream and asks him to reciprocate. Unfortunately, Inuzuka, who is unaware of the couple’s activities, destroys the moment by devouring Izumi’s ice cream. Shikimori, Hachimitsu, Inuzuka, Izumi, and Nekozaki take the train home after a long day and end up falling asleep on the way.

Shikimori Isn’t Just a Cutie Episode 5 Ending: Does Shikimori’s Natural Competitiveness Cause Her to Be a Jealous Girlfriend?

Shikimori is a kind girlfriend who is always attempting to protect her clumsy lover, as viewers who have been watching the program since episode 1 must have understood by now. While she clearly adores him, the title protagonist is a competitive girl by nature who dislikes losing, especially when her partner is there. When Kamiya was single-handedly dominating the volleyball match, she turned the game on its head.

Although her competitiveness isn’t always a bad thing, when she finds someone else capturing Izumi’s attention more than she is, she becomes envious. Her nervousness and jealousy stem from her competitiveness, since she dislikes having people close to her more than she prefers—even if that person is Izumi’s best friend, Inuzuka. In episode 2, as she was receiving a lot of attention after the volleyball game, she became envious of Inuzuka, who was simply attempting to keep her partner safe while she was away.

The same thing happened when Izumi glanced at a bikini model poster long enough for Shikimori to notice her. She ended up buying the identical outfits, reasoning that she was only doing it for him. It does, however, appear to speak to a more persistent problem than Shikimori would like to concede. While Shikimori’s relationship with Izumi has been unaffected thus far, it may have an impact in the future if she does not learn to control her fears.
