Here’s all you need to know about the season 2 episode 2 finale of ‘Komi Can’t Communicate.’ WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

Recap of Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 Episode 2

Komi dashes out of her bed, excited for another exciting day at school, only to come to a halt at the house’s front door due to the rain. Komi’s mother, Shuuko, informs her that her teacher called and informed her that a hurricane warning had been issued in the area and that she should remain at home for the time being. Komi is obviously disappointed that she would be unable to see her pals. When a lightning bolt scares Shuuko, she chooses to comfort Komi by allowing her to sleep on her lap. Her mother chooses to examine the electric fuse with Shousuke just as she is starting to feel better.

Fortunately, Tadano calls at the appropriate time to secure Komi’s safety at home. He is relieved to find that she did not venture out in the inclement weather, but he is soon perplexed by the weird activity from the other side. He realizes Komi is probably uncomfortable due to the power outage, but after they converse for a while, she feels a lot better.

Later, when the pupils return to school, Yamai organizes a heinous attempt to see Komi’s underwear by taking her to a nearby puddle. Fortunately, all of her frantic tactics fail for one reason or another. Yamai finally gives up and stands in awe of the natural beauty surrounding her while the pupils are attracted by the lovely sight of the rainbow.

Tadano is sitting alone in class when he overhears several of the students discussing their possible romantic affairs with their female peers. Most of their fantasies are unrealistic and based on fantasy rather than reality. Tadano, on the other hand, is lured in by the discourse and begins fantasizing of a romantic day with Komi. He imagines them having supper together and then helping each other clean the dishes. When Tadano comes to his senses, he is humiliated over his imagination.

Komi begs Najimi to accompany her to a cat café after hearing about it in the news. They explain, however, that they are allergic to cats, while Tadano declines to go because he will be occupied with other tasks. Onemine and Otori eventually go to the cat café with Komi. Komi scares the cats away for some odd reason, but the other two do not have to compete for the cats’ attention. The battles continue until a black cat who is known to avoid getting too near to people appears and sits on Komi’s lap on her own accord. Tadano’s classmates play the Love Game the next day at school.

Season 2 Episode 2 Ending: Does Komi Lose the Love Game?

In the Love Game, students say “I Love You” at random to one of their unassuming friends in the hopes of eliciting a reaction from them. If they are successful in embarrassing them, they win, while the other participant must maintain an impassive face in order to deny the challenger a victory and remain in the game. Yamai seizes the opportunity to force Komi to utter the three magical words. Komi keeps her poker face when she proposes, just as Yamai had predicted. Yamai wants Komi to attempt saying “I love you” to her now because she has been persisting for a long enough period.

They are stopped, however, by Najimi, who, under the pretext of light talk, unexpectedly proposes to Komi. But, like Yamai, they are unable to elicit a response from her. When Najimi realizes that nothing is working for her, she asks Tadano to say, “I love you, Komi.” Tadano agrees to propose, despite his initial reluctance, only to be interrupted. Komi seizes the chance and storms out of the room to relax. She was going to respond emotionally when the unexpected interruption spared her. Komi, on the other hand, realizes that she would love to hear Tadano propose to her someday. As a result, despite Najimi and Yamai’s continuous efforts, the protagonist does not lose the love game.
