KGF 2 Box Office Collection: Yash’s KGF 2 has had a big release across South Indian states. While the film was a box office success in Karnataka, it also enjoyed a strong start in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and the Telugu states.

The Kannada film KGF: Chapter 2, with Yash in the lead role, has taken the Indian box office by storm. The sequel reaped the benefits of the film’s first installment’s great demand in 2018, opening to a resounding reception in theatres throughout the world. The makers reported on Friday that KGF 2 grossed Rs 134.5 crore in India on Thursday, making it the highest-earning Kannada film in history.

KGF 2 is claimed to have been shown on around 10,000 screens globally. According to sources, the film is available in several formats on approximately 6500 theaters across India. And the Hindi version alone is being shown on over 4000 screens. These are hitherto unseen screen counts for a Kannada film. And KGF 2 has set a new standard for the Kannada film industry, while also contributing to the increased demand for commercial films from the south in the Hindi-speaking region.

KGF 2 has the same global screen count as RRR, which became filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s second picture to gross Rs 1000 crore at the box office.

KGF 2 had a record advance booking in the Hindi belt, surpassing RRR’s bookings. Experts believe that the Hindi version alone will earn Rs 30 crore or more on its first day, which would be a record for a dubbed Kannada film. However, based on the buzz, that was a pretty conservative projection.

The film is projected to shatter Kerala’s previous record for the greatest opening weekend. Tamil Nadu is also seeing an increase in demand for the film.

Aside from the hoopla, KGF 2 is receiving positive word of mouth from the crowd, which will all add up to a record-breaking opening weekend.
