What are the highlighting features of the scheme?

Focus of scheme launch –

The main idea for scheme launch is to offer better electricity facilities for ease of irrigational purpose in Gujarat.

Target group of scheme –

The poor farmers who find it hard to meet their daily lives due to poor agricultural condition, and deficit of electricity supply.

The scheme initiative has been taken by Prime Minister NarendraModi to help the poor farmers in Gujarat

Benefits under the scheme –

The 16 hours, that is from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., power supply to farmers in the state daily and help in irrigation purposes.

Total money to be spend for scheme –

It has been estimated that a total of rupees 3,500 crore will be spent over the coming three years and help the poor framers of the state

Irrigation help –

The supply of electricity shall help in better expansion of micro irrigation of the state agriculture. In addition, the PM wants the farmers to make every drop of water count and try to get the best yield in the agricultural fields. With better electricity supply, it will be better to conserve water required for agricultural purposes.

Who is eligible for the scheme?

Residential details –

As the scheme has been launched by Gujarat state government, only the natives of the state can register for the scheme benefits

Category of farmer –

The farmer need to furnish suitable details at the time of registration to justify their category and produce details from farming

Income details –

The farmer need to furnish income details and justify that they are not part of any other farming scheme for farming to be eligible to get the scheme benefits

List of documents under the scheme

Residential documents –

The farmers need to furnish suitable domicile documents to justify that they are the native farmers of the state and therefore, eligible to get the scheme benefits. Framers from other states are not eligible to register for the same

Identification proof –

The farmers should furnish Voter ID card, ration card and the like to register for the scheme online and get the perks

How would the scheme benefit double farmer’s income?

The main idea of launching the scheme is to double the farmer’s income and help them earn better by launching a new initiative. In this, Panchayats and other organizations help in setting up small solar plants in the farms to help farmers get sufficient supply of electricity. In this the pumps are connected to solar plants for easy energy generation for farming activities.

How to save water by successful implementation of the scheme?

When electricity will be supplied throughout the day, it shall help in better water conservation. With this supply during night, it shall help the farmers to switch off water pumps and save wastage of water. With ease of electricity supply, it shall help the farmers to save a lot of water for the irrigational work.

Details of 3 Phase Electricity Supply for Irrigation purpose

As per the rules of the new scheme, the farmers will be given electricity supply for irrigation for three times during a day. The stakeholders are trying their best to help the farmers get better farming production and double their incomes for a better livelihood. The main idea of successful launch of the scheme is to help farmers overcome the problems of easy electricity supply.

Which villages are eligible to get the scheme benefits?

• The scheme launched will cover up for almost 4000 villages by end of January as estimated
• The announcement for the scheme has been made by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani at Bayad  mainly for North Gujarat
• During the 1st phase of scheme, a total of 1 lakh farmers have been covered and a more of 1 lakh 90 thousand farmers have been estimated for the coming years
• The state government has taken up the responsibility to install new transmission lines and make other arrangement that would worth a total of rupees 35 thousand crores for the coming three years
• The main idea behind the launch is to help the farmers from wild animals as they used to work throughout night for better produce

What are the implementation plans under Gujarat KisanSuryoday Yojana?

• Due to scheme, new transmission network capacity will be installed that will cover up for 3500 circuit kilometer of new lines and it will be set up in the coming two to three years
• In addition, it would help to set up nine 220 KV substations along with 234 transmission lines which are of 66 KV
• As of now, the farmers belonging to 1055 villages such as Dahod district, GirSomnath, Junagadh are eligible to get the scheme benefits

However, it can be expected that the scheme benefit is sure to cover up more districts in the coming years.
