James Movie Details

James is a 2022 Indian Kannada-language action thriller film written and directed by Chethan Kumar. It stars Puneeth Rajkumar and Priya Anand. This is Puneeth’s posthumous appearance following his death on 29 October 2021. The film marked the second collaboration between Puneeth, Priya and Sarathkumar after Raajakumara (2017). The film score and soundtrack are composed by V. Harikrishna and Charan Raj, respectively. The film had a theatrical release on 17 March 2022 on the occasion of Puneeth Rajkumar’s birthday.

James Movie Review

Expectations are high for James, which will be late Puneeth Rajkumar’s final film as a leading man in his Power Star persona. The teaser hinted at a stylish thriller, but the crew elected not to release a trailer in order to make the aesthetics a surprise for viewers. Finally, James does justice by allowing audiences to see Puneeth in a completely different avatar, and he shines brightly in every frame of his most elegant cinematic debut.

The film opens quickly, with a succession of events depicting the country’s dark society and drug cartels in action. It also introduces the many participants, and one gains an understanding of the sector’s politics and dynamics. When one of the drug lords is slain, Santhosh Kumar, who heads a security firm, enters and rushes to his family’s help. From here, a wild voyage of battles and romance ensues, with an unexpected plot twist at the intermission.

While an emotional story unfolds in the second half, this is the only point where there may be a minor lag, but the action quickly picks up. Finally, James is the ideal delight for those who wish to applaud, hoot, whistle, and even dance along with Puneeth in his real massy persona on the big screen for the final time. The sleek presentation, fast action sequences, and massive ensemble cast guarantee that the picture has everything they need to keep them glued.

And what’s a Puneeth Rajkumar flick without a few twists and turns? There are also some fascinating cameos. Rachita Ram, Ashika Ranganath, and Sreeleela, three leading ladies from the industry, make a surprise appearance in the film as they shimmy in their sexiest best in the introductory song. Shivarajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar’s much-anticipated cameos add an emotional touch to the film. And it goes without saying that Shivarajkumar’s dubbing for his late brother is flawless.

Puneeth fans will enjoy the end credits, which include his entire filmography, including his acting, singing, television, and ad roles. James does not disappoint those who wanted to see their favorite Appu in his Power-packed Star form one last time. There are flaws, but this film eventually reaches the target in the heart for fans.
