Synopsis of the Interceptor Plot

‘Interceptor’ begins with a group of soldiers taking over Fort Greely, one of the two US Army missile defense systems. Meanwhile, Captain JJ Collins is reappointed to the other missile defense installation, SBX-1, which is located in a classified area in the Pacific. Colonel Marshall informs her on her first day back at the base that they are tracking a Russian submarine. Collins sees her coworkers Rahul Shah and Beaver Baker, as well as Marshall, and the four of them learn that Fort Greely has been destroyed. In short time, the Pentagon warns them of Russian missiles aimed against fifteen US cities.

Collins and others prepare to defend the country from an oncoming missile strike because SBX-1 is the only remaining active missile defense installation. While she fears terrorists are infiltrating the base, Alexander Kessel and his squad kill Marshall and explain that they are the ones behind the Russian missile attack. Collins manages to keep Alexander and his group out of the command center, only for Beaver to disclose that he is one of them. Collins learns that Alexander is a retired US military intelligence officer.

Alexander and his squad penetrate the command center with the help of Beaver and begin a live transmission to inform the public that fifteen US states will be devastated soon. Alexander orders the launch of one missile to begin, but Collins intercepts it with an interceptor before it reaches Los Angeles. As vengeance, Alexander opens the base’s valves, sinking the complex. Shah tries to close the valves but is slain by Beaver in the process. While Alexander is speaking with his pals, Collins suspects him of being a hired gun rather than the mastermind behind the attacks.

Does Captain Collins Launch the Interceptors at the End of Interceptor? Do Russian Missiles Strike the US?

Captain Collins launches the interceptors before Russian missiles can reach the US. When Alexander unlocks the SBX-1 valves, the base begins to descend into the Pacific. Collins is forced to destroy fourteen Russian missiles before the facility sinks in order to save her country. She knows that Alexander has the luxury of waiting for the base to sink before attacking the US, and the only way to prevent this is to push him to launch the missiles as soon as possible so that she can fire the interceptors before the base sinks as well. Collins deceives Alexander by allowing him to gain control of the command center after receiving approval from the President.

Collins believes she can retake control of the facility once Alexander orders the missiles to be launched to kill them. Alexander commands the launch of the fourteen missiles rather than waiting for the base to sink, so her plan works. He decides to launch the missiles as soon as possible to demonstrate his arrogance and power to the rest of the world. Alexander, despite bragging about seizing charge of the command center, fails to recognize that he has stepped right into Collins’ trap. She runs back to the command center in order to launch the interceptors, only to discover that the launch button has been smashed by acid.

Collins is still able to fire the interceptors by launching them from her laptop. She murders Beaver, climbs to the base’s roof, attaches the laptop to the launch system, and fires the interceptors. The interceptors kill all fourteen missiles before any danger can arise. Collins’ bravery in putting millions of lives at risk by allowing Alexander to enter the command center and authorizing the launch of the missiles aids her in saving the same lives.

Why do the Russians assassinate Alexander Kessel? Why don’t they assassinate Captain Collins?

Alexander Kessel convinces Captain Collins that he is the mastermind behind the missile assault when he announces himself and his goals to her. He tells her about his six-year effort to take SBX-1 and Fort Greely. Alexander appears to be a cruel genius in Collins’ eyes at first. However, he is nothing more than a former intelligence man hired to carry out the assignment for Russian terrorists. Alexander is not in command of the attack, and he must answer to the Russians who funded him. When he fails to carry out the attack, he pays the price with his life.

After overcome various challenges, Russian terrorists coordinated the missile attack. As the final part in their sophisticated plot, they attack the Tavlinka missile base in Russia to obtain the missiles for the strike. Their preparations are foiled when Alexander falls for Collins’ ruse and orders missile launches without waiting for the base to sink. After the attack fails, the Russians regard Alexander as a worthless ally and murder him. While verifying Alexander’s assassination, the Russians ponder killing Collins. However, they decide not to kill her.

The Russians will gain nothing by assassinating Collins. Furthermore, one of the Russian group’s supervisors appears to nod his cap in recognition of her successful and daring attempts to defend them and their missile attack.

Is Captain Collins’ father alive and well? Who will save him?

Captain Collins’ father is still living. Alexander prepares thoroughly before attempting to assume control of SBX-1. He has already dispatched his men to Collins’ father’s retirement home. Alexander orders his troops to harm her father and shows her the same when she protects the command center. Collins’ father, a former soldier, advises her to focus on defending her nation rather than worrying about him. When she makes it apparent to Alexander that she will follow her father’s advice, Alexander sends his soldiers to assassinate Collins’ father, and the video is cut off.

Collins continues to fight for her nation as a tribute to her father, who she believes is already deceased. However, his army comrades come to his retirement home to save him from Alexander’s troops. He arrives to see his daughter after she is hospitalized to the hospital following her rescue from the sinking base by a SWAT unit.
