Following the attack on Liberio, in which Eren captures and eats the host of the War Hammer Titan, the Marleyan military suffers a second blow when the Eldians also capture Zeke. Although it is subsequently revealed that he meant to return to Paradis Island on his own, Pieck’s Cart Titan and Galliard’s Jaw Titan, along with Reiner’s Armored Titan, are forced to shoulder all of the responsibility of Marleyan military exploits after that.

Pieck has remained on the front lines since then, and in season 4 episode 16, she even pretends to conspire with Eren in order to expose the positions of her fellow compatriots. Unfortunately, the strategy backfires, and they not only fail to capture the Founding Titan when Galliard’s Jaw Titan attacks Eren, but also Pieck loses her hand. It only goes to show the type of chances the Cart Titan holder has recently been taking, and ‘Attack on Titan’ season 4 episode 18 is no exception. Is Pieck able to survive the merciless battle between the Marlyeans and the Eldians? Here’s what we know so far. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.

Is Pieck killed off in Attack on Titan?

In the episode named ‘Sneak Attack,’ Pieck Finger does not die. Following the destruction of Liberio, the Marleyans surprise the Eldians with an unexpected onslaught, and the Cart Titan, along with the Jaw and Armored Titans, realize they only have one more chance to capture the Founding Titan. While Galliard and Reiner prepare for a direct encounter with Eren, Pieck’s Titan prepares from the walls to unleash the Anti-Titan Mobile Artillery with the assistance of General Magath.

She doesn’t have to wait long because she becomes an active participant in the action just a few moments after the Founding Titan strikes the Jaw and Armored Titans. As Eren is cornered, the three’s combined efforts look to be working. Unfortunately, the Marleyans’ power imbalance does not last long, as they are soon attacked by Zeke’s Beast Titan. In a matter of seconds, he eliminates Galliard, Reiner, and all of the planes that were meant to be utilized for their departure when they complete the operation.

As the Founding Titan approaches Zeke, it appears like all hope is lost for them. When the Beast Titan sees Pieck’s Cart Titan’s carcass, he, like the Yaegerists, assumes she has been killed. To everyone’s amazement, General Magath, who is in command of the Anti-Titan Mobile Artillery, abruptly turns the launcher towards the Beast Titan and delivers a powerful strike at its nape. The Eldians feel the strain of the moment as the Titan falls from the top of the Wall, while the Marleyans can finally see some hope for themselves.

But, if Pieck’s Cart Titan was killed, why was General Magath’s life spared? Didn’t the Yaegerists realize he was a threat with the Anti-Titan Mobile Artillery at his disposal? It turns out that Pieck’s Titan was never slain in the first place, and she simply left the Titan’s carcass behind to give the impression that she was dead. It became crucial later on, as the elated Yaegerists and Zeke failed to notice the menace that was staring them down. Magath had barely enough time to carry out the aforementioned attack, while Pieck, who was no longer in her Titan form, hid beneath the carcass and watched the action unfold.
