AB de Villiers set to return, to take up THIS role with RCB in T20 league
RCB batter AB de Villiers scored 313 runs in 15 matches last season in IPL 2021 with two fifties and a strike-rate of 148.34.
Former South African captain and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper AB de Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2021.
De Villiers, on the other hand, is slated to return to the T20 competition in a new role in the IPL 2022.
Virat Kohli's RCB will not only introduce their new skipper on Saturday (March 12), but they are also expected to name De Villiers as a'mentor' for the franchise
According to the InsideSport website, Kohli asked De Villiers to join the coaching team as a'mentor' after the Indian batter stepped down as captain after the IPL 2021.
Last season, De Villiers scored 313 runs in 15 matches, with two fifties and a strike rate of 148.34.He scored 5,162 runs in 184 games in the IPL , with three hundreds and forty fifties.
The RCB will also pick De Villiers' countrymate Faf du Plessis as their new captain for the IPL 2022. The RCB has scheduled a press conference for March 12 at 4 p.m. for the same purpose.
