Have you recently bought a Mega Millions lottery ticket in southern Illinois? A $4M prize remains unclaimed

Check the numbers if you recently bought a Mega Millions lottery ticket in Jackson County. One lucky person in Illinois who played the lottery on Tuesday won $4 million. 

The ticket was bought at the Murphysboro Circle K, which is at 923 N. 14th St. The winning numbers, according to the Illinois Lottery, were 5, 13, 29, 38, and 59. The player used the Megaplier feature to win $4 million.

The Illinois Lottery website says, "Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw to claim their prize."

Winners of the Illinois Lottery are asked to write their name on the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they are ready to claim their prize. 

The store that sold the winning ticket will get a bonus of $10,000, which is 1% of the total prize amount.

Each Mega Millions ticket costs $2, and for an extra $1, players can add the Megaplier to multiply any winnings that aren't from the jackpot.

The Illinois Lottery said that almost 39,000 winning Mega Millions tickets were sold on Tuesday. These tickets won more than $4.2 million.
