The Valet Ending Explained: What happens to Antonio?

The Valet is a romantic comedy film that is an English remake of the 2006 French film of the same name (‘La doublure’). It follows movie star Olivia Allan (Samara Weaving) and parking valet Antonio (Eugenio Derbez). Under normal conditions, Antonio would have been one of the hundreds of people Olivia sees on a daily basis but never recognises. When the paparazzi photograph Olivia and her married lover, billionaire real-estate mogul Vincent Royce (Max Greenfield), Olivia decides to pretend to be in a relationship with the third person in the shot, who happens to be Antonio. They both open up their separate worlds to each other as they spend time together. Here’s everything you need to know about ‘The Valet’s’ finale. SPOILERS FOLLOW.

Synopsis of the Valet Plot

Olivia Allan is one of the world’s most well-known movie stars. She is now working on a biopic of Amelia Earhart. Despite, or perhaps because of, her celebrity, she is troubled and lonely. Olivia hasn’t spoken to her family in a long time, and her only pals are those who work for her. She is having an affair with Vincent, a married man. Olivia has convinced herself that Vincent will one day abandon his wife Kathryn for her. However, she is aware that this will never happen. They have enough power in Vincent’s business between Kathryn and Kathryn’s father to force him out.

In Los Angeles, Antonio, his brother-in-law Benny (Amaury Nolasco), and his buddies work as valets at a posh Beverly Hills restaurant. Antonio has never had much desire in his life. This, we later learn, was one of the reasons his estranged wife Isabel left him. He shares a modest flat with his mother Cecilia (Carmen Salinas) and his kid. Isabel comes over one evening and says she needs money to pay off her bills. Despite the fact that she does not openly ask for the money, Antonio is still madly in love with his wife and chooses to find a way to get it for her.

Olivia and Antonio’s paths cross one tragic evening. Olivia wants to flee after an argument with Vincent. She hails a cab, and just as she is about to enter, Antonio is involved in an accident. Vincent had arrived by this time, and the three of them are photographed together by the paparazzi. While Olivia is concerned about a PR disaster, Vincent is concerned about Kathryn’s reaction. When Kathryn questions him about it, Vincent says Olivia was there with the third person in the photo, Antonio. When Vincent informs his lawyer of this, the lawyer proposes that they use it. The lawyer then contacts Antonio, who agrees on one condition: they will pay him the precise amount of money Isabel requires to repay her obligation.

Who Does Antonio End Up With in The Valet? Olivia, Isabel, or Natalie?

Antonio struggles to adjust to his new surroundings from the start. He is true in his perception that a universe he had no idea existed had opened up to him. Antonio’s family is even more taken aback. They know Antonio is a kind man and a caring parent, but they don’t understand how he has suddenly become appealing enough to pique the interest of a movie star.

Olivia enters a new world as well, one filled with kindness and unconditional love. After she becomes very drunk at a party, Antonio takes her home and lets her sleep in his bed while he sleeps on the chair. Olivia is introduced to her family members the next morning, who greet her with open arms.

Isabel becomes envious when she finds that a movie star is interested in her very ordinary and quiet husband, despite the fact that she is also dating someone else. It becomes a competition in her head. She kisses Antonio, and he explains why he and Olivia are together to calm her down. Isabel, naturally, loses interest in Antonio. She informs him that she cannot be with a man who lacks ambition.

Meanwhile, Vincent incorrectly believes Olivia has slept with Antonio. The reality is that Antonio and Olivia’s relationship does not contain romance or sex. Olivia discovers what she has been looking for in Antonio and his family: a sense of belonging.

Natalie owns the bicycle repair and sales store that Antonio frequents. Natalie, like him, is a single parent. She is on the verge of losing her store to Vincent’s company. However, following his detention, Kathryn probably assumes control of the corporation and cancels the gentrification plan for Antonio’s neighborhood. Antonio and Natalie start dating at the end of the film.

Antonio’s relationship with Isabel also becomes normal, especially after Cecilia’s death. He and Olivia had a falling out earlier. In the film’s climactic climax, Antonio encounters Olivia on the set of her upcoming film, and the two reconcile. The final scene features the two of them arguing in a restaurant.
