The Boys Season 3 Episode 1 Ending Explained

‘The Boys’ has consistently succeeded in keeping its fans on their toes since its inception. It’s thrilling to watch since you never know what to anticipate from it. With its third season, the program confirms once again that there is nothing stranger, bloodier, or more wicked out there. Its debut episode lays the basis for an exciting second season. And the ending reveals that there are many more tricks lurking behind those twists.

Recap of “Payback” from Season 3 of The Boys

It’s been a year since the clash between the Boys and the Supes, and everyone seems to be doing well. Hughie has earned Victoria Neuman’s trust and is collaborating with her to bring about justice with less chaos and bloodshed. Despite his desire to kill every Supe in sight, Butcher has learnt to temper his rage and is attempting to do things the right way. He has also formed a close friendship with Ryan, who is under Mallory’s care.

Things are becoming terrible for Homelander by the minute. His popularity is dwindling as a result of his involvement with Stormfront, who turned out to be a Nazi. Starlight, on the other hand, is becoming more prevalent. Stan Edgar sees her potential in resurrecting Vought’s image. He gives her the position of co-captain of The Seven, giving her complete control over the team’s next member. It enrages Homelander even more, and he becomes increasingly unstable. Stormfront, who is currently in the hospital recovering from the serious injuries inflicted on her by Ryan, is his sole supporter.

Maeve understands that Homelander must be dealt with immediately. It turns out she had been completing her homework. She learns that America’s previous Supe crush, Soldier Boy, was slain by a weapon. If someone obtains such a weapon, they may be able to kill Homelander with it. She shares this information with Butcher, with whom she has been working for some time. She also provides him something else that would help him combat other Supes.

Ending of The Boys Season 3 Episode 1

Vought had been experimenting with Compound V to generate a more stable form, which was disclosed in the previous season. They had been working on something called V-24, it turns out. This is a Compound V variant that permits you to become a Supe for 24 hours. Because it is a transient circumstance, it does not provide a person endless authority, making it more suitable for military use. Maeve gives Butcher a couple of its vials in the hopes that it may aid him in what comes next.

Butcher will undoubtedly require a dosage or two of V-24 at this rate. Butcher will need to contact members of his crew, Payback, to find out where the weapon that (supposedly) killed Soldier Boy is. Maeve cautions him that even if they are a comical lot, they are nonetheless dangerous. While Butcher initially dismisses the proposal, he begins to think about it after receiving an unexpected visit from Homelander. The Supe talks to him about how Vought is trying to control and suppress both of them, but all they want is a chance to get at each other’s throats and kill each other once and for all.

Meanwhile, a visit from the past reveals Victoria Neuman’s true identity. It starts with the premiere of ‘The Dawn of the Seven,’ where she is addressed as Nadia. Hughie observes this, and it piques his interest even more when a man named Tony shows up at FBSA (Federal Bureau of Superhuman Affairs). He claims to know “Nadia,” that they were great friends. Hughie dismisses Tony as perplexed and sends him on his way. Later that evening, Tony attempts to get Victoria’s attention by addressing her as Nadia. Hughie follows them to an alley, where he hides behind a trash and sees their altercation.

Tony, it turns out, was not perplexed after all. Nadia is Victoria’s real name, and she and Tony were at a town called Red River. Victoria wants no one to know about her history, so she attempts to murder Tony. But Tony has abilities as well. This causes a fight between them, which results in Tony being blasted to bits and pieces. Hughie observes everything while remaining hidden.

Hughie realizes now that Vought has always had influence over FBSA. This also explains why the Supes who were captured for heinous crimes escaped in some way. He believed he was finally doing things correctly, which was his goal from the start. But, in the face of such a crushing defeat, he has no choice but to return to the Butcher method.
