Even though Layton has no sympathy for Wilford, killing or abandoning him is the last thing he wants to do. The idealism that drives Layton’s efforts does not wish for the tyrant engineer’s demise. Furthermore, Layton understands that Wilford’s expertise of the Snowpiercer as an engineer may be unavoidable in the face of a crisis. As a result, he saves Wilford. Wilford is still alive, but he is in critical condition and faces death in the distance. If Mrs. Headwood’s medical efficiency is insufficient to keep the engineer alive, the distance between death and Wilford may gradually narrow.

What Will Wilford Do With Layton and Zarah’s Child? Why Has Zarah Agreed to Experiment on Her Child?

Pregnancy is highly treasured in the Snowpiercer. When Wilford learns about Layton and Zarah’s baby, he sees Zarah’s pregnancy as an opportunity to examine the species’ future and survival. He directs Mrs. Headwood to test the cold-resistant medication on the baby, which they previously tried successfully on Josie. Wilford uses the baby to test whether the drug he has created can be used to help newborns resist the lethal cold from birth. His unrivalled desire to be “the God” of humanity’s remnants drives him to devise a solution that can withstand the freeze.

When Layton discovers that the prenatal experiment has been going on without his knowledge, he confronts Zarah. The infant’s mother says that she consented to participate in the experiment for the sake of the baby. She blames Layton for abandoning them in order to pursue Melanie. Zarah just cares about the baby’s well-being. When Layton gets off the Snowpiercer, she understands that if she wants to live, she may need to get along with Wilford.

When Wilford suggests “a magical substance” for her baby to combat the fatal cold, Zarah believes it may improve her kid’s chances of survival. Zarah’s selfishness and Layton’s absence set the path for her bargain with the devil to experiment on her baby.

Is it true that the Big Alice Cars have been removed off the track? How?

Yes, Alex moves the Big Alice cars off the track. When Ben is unable to release the vehicles from the track, Alex warns Layton and the others that only Wilford can assist them. When Layton arrives at Wilford’s prison, he notices that the engineer is near death. He requests that Ben cancel the expedition and return to the Snowpiercer. Alex, on the other hand, defies Layton’s commands and works hard to discover a solution. Melanie, who appears in Alex’s visions, instructs her daughter to recall Wilford’s instructions in order to solve the enigma.
