Raised By Wolves Season 2 Episode 4 Recap and Ending Explained

The Trust’s attack on Marcus (Travis Fimmel) and his supporters causes collateral damage in season 2 episode 4 of ‘Raised by Wolves,’ titled ‘Control,’ forcing Mother to make a difficult choice. Something ancient is reawakened by Father. Marcus loses his powers as the ghosts of Decima’s (Kim Engelbrecht) past are torn from her. Here’s everything you need to know about the season 2 episode 4 ending of ‘Raised by Wolves.’ WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.

Recap of Raised By Wolves Season 2 Episode 4

The episode begins with a conversation between Marcus and Paul. Marcus, unlike Susie, has been pardoned by Paul because he has become religious. Specks of dust begin to glimmer in the sunlight, and Paul, his mouse, and one of Marcus’ disciples begin to transform. Around the boy, a cocoon-like layer grows. Marcus knows it is the Trust’s fault. It anticipated that if Paul was informed of an impending attack, he and Campion would return to tell Marcus, thus it tracked the two boys to the believer’s hiding place.

Marcus blames Vrille for this because she is the one who took the lads to the church, and orders Decima to put things right. She does precisely that, fueled in part by her entrenched devotion and in part by her passionate feelings for Marcus, and she plays a key role in the seeming destruction of Vrille. Meanwhile, Campion returns to the camp and notifies Mother of what has occurred, prompting another conflict between her and Marcus.

While Marcus initially has the upper hand, Mother eventually wins the battle and reclaims the necromancer eyes, which are the source of Marcus’ powers. Father pours the fuel-blood he acquired from his fight all over the ancient android in the Settlement, awakening it alive. Later on, it protects Campion from Tamerlane. Mother transforms into a necromancer once more after learning the truth about what happened to one of her children and regaining her eyesight, and she returns to the Trust.

Is the Trust Destroyed in Raised By Wolves Season 2 Episode 4?

Campion Sturges developed the Trust, as well as transforming Mother into a caregiver android. It was intended to be a sentient quantum computer that would rule over humanity once atheists won the religious battle. They eventually lost, and it was given the task of escorting the atheists to Kepler-22b. The atheists hijacked the Mithraic ship Tarantula for this purpose. The Trust was supposed to be the colony’s leader until a human leader developed. It is made of a substance known as “quantum six,” and it is believed to be logical and impartial.

Because of these characteristics, it concludes that eliminating Marcus is the best option for the colony’s survival, even if it means sacrificing Campion, Holly, and Paul in the process. Mother easily bursts through the defence barrier Cleaver and his men erected after regaining her sight, dissolving a number of them. She is hesitant, though, to dissolve the Trust because they are both created by the same person.

Despite the fear of destruction, the Trust adheres to its essential beliefs and rejects Mother’s offers of compromise. It lacks an antidote for Paul’s ailment and cannot guarantee that he will never imperil Mother’s children again or assist Mother in finding a cure for Paul because he is supposed to be neutral. As a result, Mother reluctantly destroys the Trust’s core processors. It may not have fully dissolved the Trust, but the former Collective leader has been made ineffective.

What killed the crew of the Marine Research Station?

Earlier in the season, a mystery beast drew the crew of the Marine Research Station into the acid sea, killing them. It was previously assumed that the serpent was to blame. Mother soon realised, however, that the acid sea has the same effect on the serpent as it does on humans. We eventually find out what or who is to blame for what happened to those poor victims in episode 4.

It appears to be a degenerated human, similar to those discovered by the first settlers on the other side of the planet in the first season. This one appears to have become immune to the effects of the acid sea. When Vrille tries to capture Campion on Decima’s orders, the creature clutches her leg and drags her to the acid sea. Campion steps in and kills the beast, saving her life. He consciously chooses to save a synthetic creature by killing an organic being’s life.
