‘Sticks and Stones’ begins with Tom and Allan Christie examining Malva’s body. Tom considers burying her, an unforgiven sinner, outside the Ridge, but Jamie insists on a decent burial in the church cemetery. Along with Josiah and Keziah Beardsley, he invites Young Ian to lead an informal investigation to discover the perpetrator. Claire begins preparing the body for the funeral and breaks down in tears when she learns that settlers accuse her of murdering her former apprentice.

Young Ian is unsuccessful in his search for the Beardsley twins, but he encounters Lizzie, who informs him that she is pregnant. Lizzie’s pregnancy is being investigated by Jamie and Claire. She discloses that her baby’s father is a Beardsley twin. She cannot be confident of the father’s identification because she had a love affair with both of them at the same time. Jamie, in order to avert another controversy, demands Lizzie marry one of the twins. She professes her desire to marry both of them and live with them. Nonetheless, Jamie forces her to pick Keziah and marries her.

During Malva’s funeral, Allan forbids Claire from touching Malva’s dead baby’s casket. Claire uses ether to calm herself down after the funeral. Lizzie visits Roger and Brianna Beardsley’s home with Josiah and Keziah Beardsley. Roger marries Lizzie to Josiah without knowing Jamie has married her to Keziah.

Will Claire Be Arrested at the End of Outlander Season 6 Episode 7? Will She Go to Jail for Malva’s Murder?

Following Malva’s funeral, Richard Brown and his men arrive to Fraser’s Ridge to arrest Claire for Malva’s murder. Claire’s efforts to save Malva’s baby after the mother’s death pave the way for various charges to be leveled against her. Claire’s involvement in Malva’s murder is complicated by the settlers’ mistaken belief that she is a witch. Richard Brown, who has been waiting for an opportunity to inflict vengeance on Jamie and his family for the death of his brother Lionel, takes advantage of the situation to damage the Frasers.

Roger tells his wife Brianna about his desire to be ordained as a preacher. When she accepts, he informs her that Edenton has a presbytery. They both agree to leave as soon as possible. Brianna is first skeptical of Roger’s desire to become a priest. She understands that if her husband becomes a minister, he will be required to interact with people, which will limit her time with him. As the daughter of a doctor, she had to understand Claire’s absence when the latter was attending to her patients.

Brianna worries a repeat of this situation, in which Roger will be away from her, Jeremiah, and their unborn child to handle other people’s business. Roger assures Brianna that he will always prioritize his roles as a husband and parent. Brianna is persuaded by his assurance that his family would be his top concern. They travel to Edenton so Roger can pursue his dream of becoming an ordained priest.
