In the sixth episode of Starz’s historical series ‘Outlander’ season 6, Jamie returns to Fraser’s Ridge with Claire after saving members of the Sons of Liberty from British soldiers. An outbreak wreaks havoc on the Ridge, resulting in several deaths. Claire becomes unwell, scaring Jamie, Brianna, and the rest of the family. Malva makes an astonishing revelation that rocks the Fraser family to its heart. The episode concludes with a bombshell revelation that will very certainly alter the destiny of the Frasers and Christies. Recap of Outlander Season 6 Episode 6

Claire discovers an outbreak has broken out in their colony in the sixth episode of season 6, titled ‘The World Turned Upside Down.’ She wants to treat as many patients as she can before becoming ill herself. Claire, who is bedridden, fights the sickness while experiencing delirium and nightmares. She begins to recover slowly after scaring Jamie and her other family. Brianna informs her mother that she is expecting a child. Claire learns about Tom’s illness from Jamie. She goes to see him and realizes that only they had the same ailment, even though they hadn’t been in contact with one other, while the other settlers had another illnesses.

Claire requests Tom’s fecal sample in order to do a test to learn more about their sickness, but he refuses. While on his way to a Sons of Liberty convention, Tom pays Jamie a visit with Malva and Allan. Malva reveals that she is expecting Jamie’s child. She then tells Claire, who is startled, that she had a consenting sexual affair with him while Claire was unwell. Malva’s statement is dismissed by Jamie as a falsehood, but Malva retaliates by revealing the locations of his intimate body marks. Tom requests that Jamie draft a contract that makes him accountable for Malva’s and her unborn child’s livelihood and security.

Claire breaks down in tears when she hears Malva’s accusation. Jamie assures her that he is unrelated to Malva. When Claire questions him about his devotion, Jamie admits to having an affair with Mary MacNab when Claire returns to the twentieth century. Jamie promises his wife that he has only been unfaithful to her once.

Is Malva Dead at the End of Outlander Season 6 Episode 6? Is her baby still alive or dead?

Malva and her child are no longer alive. After hearing Jamie, Claire concludes that her spouse is not the father of Malva’s child. She tries to talk to her apprentice about it, but she is unable to elicit any information from her. Malva arrives at Jamie and Claire’s house a few days after her disclosure. Claire, who is struggling with thoughts of the late Lionel Brown, chooses not to speak to Malva and closes the doors. She also inhales ether and becomes unconscious for a short period of time. Claire walks out of her house and sees Malva’s lifeless body with her throat sliced.

Claire tries to preserve the baby by performing a perimortem cesarean section after confirming Malva’s death. She takes the baby out of Malva in an attempt to save it from death, but she fails. Claire suffers tremendous grief after Malva’s baby dies. Malva is most likely murdered by the true father of her child, possibly in order to conceal the truth about her pregnancy. Given that she is slain while on her way to see Jamie or Claire, Malva must have resolved to expose the truth to them, driving the killer to take her life before she can do so. Malva may have opted to withdraw her charge and uncover the true father in exchange for Claire’s adoration, which ultimately cost her life.

Malva’s death may have far-reaching implications in Claire and Jamie’s lives. Claire may be accused of murdering Malva and her child if she performs a C-section and removes the infant. The C-section she performs may be misunderstood as her attempt to kill the baby in order to salvage her husband’s reputation. Given that the settlers have already begun to isolate Jamie and Claire, Malva’s killing may add fuel to their worries about Jamie’s involvement in the situation. If this is the case, their peaceful settlement may become hostile to the Frasers.

As the Revolutionary War approaches, Malva’s death may exacerbate Jamie’s disputes with his settlers. If Claire’s C-section is deemed suspect, she may possibly be arrested. The lack of eyewitnesses to validate Claire’s version of events may prove to be an unfortunate-yet-important aspect in her potential trial.
