Jibaro is obviously deaf and out of step with the other knights. While Jibrao is distracted by the discovery of a gold flake in the lake, the other knights converse with the missionaries. Soon after, a strange figure known as the Siren comes in the lake and entices all of the knights.

Jibaro’s appearance suggests that he is an invader seeking to grab treasure from a faraway place. Jibaro’s obsession with the Siren derives from his desire for gold and riches.
