Demon Slayer Season 3: Renewed or Cancelled?

‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ (or simply ‘Demon Slayer’) is a dark fantasy anime based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s Japanese manga series of the same name. Tanjirou Kamado, an industrious young adult, has his life turned upside down when his entire family is cruelly slaughtered save for his sister Nezuko. Unfortunately, Nezuko suffers a far more horrific destiny, as she is transformed into a monster and abandoned. Tanjirou swears to avenge his family’s murder by murdering Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King, and transforming her sister into a human in the process. The emotional journey of a seemingly ordinary yet extraordinarily nice young adult has impacted audiences all across the world.

The show has become one of the most popular anime of all time, receiving praise from critics for its excellent storyline and unparalleled animation. As a result, it should come as no surprise that fans are eagerly awaiting the next instalment following the conclusion of season 2. If you’re intrigued about the show’s return and want to learn more about it, we’ve got you covered.

Release Date for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3

Season 2 of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ premiered on October 10, 2021, following a 17-month hiatus, and finished on February 13, 2022. The second volume focused on the Mugen Train and Entertainment District Arcs and included 18 episodes ranging in length from 21 to 46 minutes.

In terms of the third instalment of the dark fantasy anime, we have some good news for fans. It was formally revealed shortly after the completion of the Entertainment District Arc that the anime had been renewed for another season. Fans should not be surprised, though, because Tanjirou has yet to encounter the Upper-Rank Demons. So, defeating Muzan Kibutsuji and putting an end to his reign of terror—which is supposed to bring the drama to a close—isn’t even realistic at this time.

Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that the official confirmation also stated that the third chapter would centre on the Swordsmith Village Arc. Because of its popularity, Ufotable Studio, which has been widely recognised for its excellent animation, is expected to prioritise the creation of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.’

Like a result, we may expect the dark fantasy anime to return shortly, as it did in the previous season. Because the series has already been renewed, filming will most likely begin in the coming months. Season 3 of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ is expected to air in the third or fourth quarter of 2023, depending on animation, dubbing, and other considerations.

Kimetsu no Yaiba, Demon Slayer Season 3 Plot: What Could It Be About?

Gyuutarou and Daki, the Upper Rank Six of the Twelve Kizuki, perish in the season 2 finale following a severe struggle with Tanjirou and his companions, which included the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui. While the Demon Slayers triumph, Uzui and Inosuke are on the point of death and are only saved by Nezuko’s unexpected command of Blood Demon Art.

Hashira has lost an arm and an eye since the Sound, and he decides to retire, knowing that he won’t be much use in direct combat. Muzan Kibutsuji summons Akaza (presumably along with other Upper-Rank Demons) to the Infinity Castle at the end of the episode.

Tanjirou Kamado will go to the Swordsmith Village in Season 3 to hunt for a new Nichirin Sword after understanding that his sword has to be repaired and Hotaru Haganezuka is unlikely to go through so much bother for him again. He will encounter the love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, and the mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, there and heal his wounds in the village’s curative hot springs.

While training, he discovers a mysterious 300-year-old sword, but the serenity and calm will not last long for the Demon Slayer and the residents of the Swordsmith Village, as dark forces plan a terrible assault. The settlement will be attacked just a few days after he arrives by Upper-Rank Five Gyokko and Upper-Rank Four Hantengu. While Nezuko, Tanjirou, Mitsuri, and Genya battle Hantengu, the mist Hashira is left alone to confront Gyokko, which proves fatal for Muichiro.
