Bel-Air Episode 1,2,3 Recap and Ending, Explained

‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ was by far one of the most popular television shows when it first aired from 1990 to 1996. Since then, it has become one of the most recognisable sitcoms of all time. For a long time, there had been rumours of a possible reboot. But Will Smith, the show’s fictitious version of his life, insisted that there would never be one, “like very near when hell freezes over.”

In 2019, however, director Morgan Cooper released a fan-made teaser for an edgy, dark, All American-esque drama version of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.’ Smith was so taken with it that he changed his mind about the revamp. As a result, Bel Air now has a new prince. Here’s everything you need to know about the reboot’s third episode’s ending. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.

Recap of Bel-Air Episodes 1–3

Will (Jabari Banks) is a young monarch without a crown when the drama begins in West Philadelphia. He is an outstanding student-athlete who has received a scholarship to VCU in Richmond and enjoys a close relationship with his mother, Viola “Vy” (April Parker Jones). But during a pickup game, he ends up punching and drawing a gun on the local drug dealer Rashaad, and Will’s life alters in ways he never expected. Despite being detained on firearms possession charges, his Uncle Phil (Adrian Holmes), a wealthy and powerful lawyer in Los Angeles, pulls some connections to get him released. Rashaad is coming for her son, so Vy puts him on the next flight to Los Angeles.

Will experiences a tremendous cultural shock when he moves to the eponymous neighbourhood. As he progressively adjusts to life there, he is plagued by guilt because his best friend Tray is in West Philly and he must face Rasheed alone. Tray is even shot in episode 2, but he lives. However, it appears that their friendship has been irreparably harmed.

In ‘Bel-Air,’ Uncle Phil is younger and more active. He is running for District Attorney and realises that his affluence has caused him to be estranged from his neighbourhood. Aunt Viv (Cassandra Freeman) is still as sweet as ever. She is an art history lecturer in ‘Bel-Air,’ with unfulfilled hopes of becoming a painter. Hilary (Coco Jones), unsurprisingly, is an influencer and aspiring chef who utilises food to explore her culture and creative sensibility. Geoffrey (Jimmy Akingbola) is the house manager, not the butler, and is most likely Phil’s best buddy. Jazz is an older rideshare driver than Will. Ashley (Akira Akbar) is still the cutest of the Banks siblings.

The complex dynamics between Will and Carlton (Olly Sholotan) serve as the main plot, at least in the first half of ‘Bel Air.’ Carlton is a troubled young guy who plays lacrosse and treats his anxiety by snorting what he believes to be Xanax. When Carlton witnesses the other boy flirting with his ex, Lisa, he and Will get off to a bad start (Simone Joy Jones). And things just get worse from there.

Will hits both Carlton and Carlton’s friend Connor by the end of the first episode (Tyler Barnhardt). Will is captured by the security of his new school in episode 2 after Connor places drugs in his luggage. In episode 3, things begin to shift for the West Philly native. He joins the basketball team at Bel-Air Academy and leads them to a thrilling victory in their first game.

Is Rashaad Coming to L.A.? Bel-Air Episode 3 Ending: Is Rashaad Coming to L.A.?

Rashaad discovers Will’s whereabouts as one of his lackeys shows him a footage from Will’s first match for Bel-Air Academy in Episode 3, dubbed ‘Yamacraw.’ Rashaad had previously texted Will, essentially guaranteeing him that he would find him. And he has now. Rashaad seemed to instil dread in the West Philly community, and Vy made the correct decision in sending Will to Bel-Air. However, this isn’t the early 1990s, when Will Smith could hide from his problems in Bel-Air. But, in this day and age of cellphones and social media, Rashaad was bound to find ‘Bel-Will. Air’s

Will is a target for the drug dealer. So, regrettably, it won’t be ended until he either gets Will or is permanently imprisoned. Wil appears to have found his feet for the first time since landing in Bel Air. He assisted his uncle in gaining the endorsement of a prominent priest for his campaign before becoming the school’s top player following the basketball game. When Rashaad arrives seeking for him, everything could come crumbling down.

It will be fascinating to see how Carlton reacts to this. He suffers an anxiety attack after failing to do well in his own game and then learning that his family is not present among the fans. Later, he runs into them and Lisa during a basketball game. His actions in the following few episodes will set the course of his character for the remainder of the season.
