Ek Love Ya is Indian Kannada-language romantic action film written and directed by Prem and produced by Rakshita under the home banner Rakshita Film Factory. The film features Rakshita’s brother Raanna as the lead, Reeshma in their debut. It also features Rachita Ram. Arjun Janya was hired to compose the music while cinematography and editing is handled by Mahendra Simha and Srinivas P Babu.

Ek Love Ya Movie Review

Prem has stated that Ek Love Ya will feature a different version of him. For starters, this is hardly a big-star project, and he is launching his brother-in-law Raanna under the production of his wife Rakshitha. True to that, he has made it the ideal vehicle for Raanna, allowing him to demonstrate everything he has in a plot with numerous emotions – romance, heartbreak, revenge, and redemption. Raanna sparkles brightly. Is this something that the film does as well? To some extent, the numerous items packed into it make it slightly long, and it could have been a more expensive picture if some commercial staples had not been included.

Prem has stated in interviews and conversations that the two heroes of his film are cinematographer Mahen Simha and music composer Arjun Janya. After seeing the film, one cannot help but agree with him, as it is visually rich and the songs and background score remain. The story has a lot of potential and depicts love attempting to triumph and win over all circumstances.

The first half of the film has a non-linear storyline before transitioning from a story about teenage love and heartbreak to a thriller. The extent to which the audience accepts the genre swap will decide the success of this film. This transition, to a significant extent, keeps audiences interested. It is merely a few of the regular classics that have proven popular for attracting a wide range of viewers. Prem is known for his motherly sentiments in his films, but this one becomes a story about three fathers and their feelings.

Raanna is introduced in the film as Amar, a brash and angry young law student who harbors animosity over the rejection of his love. Following an encounter with a sex worker, the spectator is treated to a flashback of his love life, which is shot over scenic locations and sees him fall for the elegant student Anitha. One observes the development of his naive love and subsequently shares in his journey of rejection and anguish. Just as Amar appears to be getting his life back on track, he is imprisoned for a crime that turns out to be his worst nightmare. The plot then transforms to a thriller with themes of vengeance and redemption.

Raanna, who does not appear to be a novice, is the star of the film. Reeshma Nanaiah has the makings of a good commercial heroine. Rachita Ram manages to elicit some whistles and hoots in her performance, and she looks stunning, especially in the Yennegu Hennigu song. Having said that, Shashikumar, Suchendra Prasad, and Charan Raj must be commended for their contributions. Suraj and Hithesh from Comedy Khiladigalu, who play Amar’s friends, are also promising. Rakshitha’s cameo is extremely brief, yet it may evoke some applause from admirers.

In the second half of Ek Love Ya, a significant societal issue is addressed. While the commercial components may take some of it away, the conclusion returns the focus to the discussion. Those who enjoy commercial movies should surely see this flick. It could have been edgier if it had been shorter and tighter woven. This would have ensured that the intensity was more effective.
