Steve Jobs is best known for founding Apple Inc, the multibillion-dollar company that has dominated the world with products ranging from MacBook laptops to iPods and iPhones.

But where did his adventure begin, and how did he come up with Apple?

Throughout his career, this inquisitive scientist kept his personal life private, but in his later years, he began to open himself.

Here are 15 inspirational Steve Jobs facts that you should be aware of.

1. Steve Jobs was adopted

Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in  San Francisco, California, to Abdulfattah Jandali and Joanne Schieble.

Jandali was of Muslim descent, while Schieble was of Catholic descent, and they were not married when Schieble became pregnant.

Schieble and her husband, who were both students at the University of Wisconsin at the time, fled to California to give birth.

After deciding not to retain the baby, Schieble placed Jobs for adoption.

They did, however, have a daughter who they raised for many years.

2. Jobs was on his way to becoming a Buddhist monk.

Jobs came to India in 1974 to pursue spiritual enlightenment at the Neem Karoli ashram.

Unfortunately, he had learned about Neem Karoli’s death the previous year before he arrived, so he changed his plans.

Instead, he went to Haidakhan Babaji’s ashram, where he stayed for seven months until returning to the United States.

Jobs began to pursue Zen Buddhism, which became an important aspect of his life.

He pondered becoming a monk at Eihei-Ji in Japan at one time.
