When Shikimori arrives and tells her boyfriend that she is on the volleyball team, Izumi and Inuzuka are discussing the impending sports competition in which their class will compete against others. Izumi is captivated by her charms and appears pleased with her new hairstyle, despite the fact that Inuzuka believes it would hinder her game. Nekozaki notes that they all opted on a similar one as a show of support and to promote a sense of togetherness. Shikimori is curious about the game timing because the lads are going to play football and she wants to cheer for her boyfriend.

Izumi is oblivious, so they consult the schedule and are surprised to hear that the first volleyball and football games would be played at the same time. While they are sorry that they will not be cheering for one another, the couple sends each other their best wishes. Shikimori later joins the boy’s football practice and expresses concern for Izumi’s well-being.

Just as she is praying he would not be hurt, her partner fails to spot a ball coming from behind him, and by the time he turns, he has been hit in the face. Izumi is then transported to the school’s clinic, where he rests. Despite the fact that the volleyball match is about to begin, Shikimori promises Nekozaki that she will join her as soon as possible to be at her boyfriend’s side and secure his safety.

Shikimori is worried, but Izumi reassures her that she is OK. That’s when Izumi’s girlfriend finds the scars all over his body. After she questions him, he says he obtained them when a truck crashed into her house. Putting her jealousy and doubts aside, she follows Izumi just as he is ready to depart for home and saves him from a serious injury when he misses a step on the staircase and falls. The couple may have drifted apart for a few days, but it appears that they now have a fresh respect and regard for one other, which will bring them closer in the long run.
