Recap of Date A Live IV Episode 2

Shidou chooses to seal Nia’s talents after encountering her on the streets and learns that she is a Spirit working as a manga artist. However, thanks to her angel, she is already aware of his mission and even goes on a date with him, despite the fact that she has never fallen in love with anybody other than fictitious characters. He dresses himself as one of her favorite manga characters and acts exactly like he would in front of a woman, taking advantage of her enthusiasm in manga. He first impresses her with his playing, but when he is ready to kiss Nia, she becomes enraged and chastises him for breaking character.

Shidou later tries to use a video game demo for the same purpose, but fails horribly. The Ratatoskr have a meeting with him by this time, and they jointly throw out random ideas that could eventually be useful in winning Nia’s heart. Finally, they decide to enter Comico, a manga festival where they would try to sell their own comic featuring Shidou. Ratatoskr then challenges Nia to read their work if they sell more copies than she does at the festival. Nia, who believes they have no chance, accepts their challenge.

Shidou and Kotori later run across one of Nia’s former acquaintances, who reports that she used to be fairly nice but that she always prioritized her comic work over anything else in her life. However, over time, she gradually grew chilly and aloof, which can be attributed to her natural nature. Nia’s companion says that she never talked about any friends she had in the past, which suggests that she loves to be a mystery and does not like to grow emotionally attached to people.

Meanwhile, the Spirits have already begun work on the manga and have managed to stay motivated despite various roadblocks. Natsumi, who originally proposed the idea during the meeting, works more than anybody else on the team and, as a result, naturally contributes the most to the total project. However, due to overexertion, she passes out while working, leaving the remaining portions to the rest of the team.

The Spirits then devote their entire attention to festival preparations, believing that this will finally work on Nia. Kurumi Tokisaki pays Nia a visit while others are vying for her heart. She requests that she look into an important matter with her angel.

Ending of Date A Live IV Episode 2: What is Spirit of Origin? Kurumi’s Strategy for Destroying Her

When Kurumi meets Nia, she requests that she learn everything she can about the Spirit of Origin and how she can be killed. She is certain of finally discovering the truth since she is aware of her angel’s infinite knowledge of the world. But, before we get to the Spirit of Origin, it’s important to step back and consider the significance of this revelation. When Spirits first appeared, humans either fought them to destroy them, as the Anti Spirit Team did, or they attempted to seal their powers with the help of Shidou, as Ratatoskr did.

However, in the midst of the ongoing conflict, the question of their beginnings became lost someplace, which is of overwhelming importance. Furthermore, Kurumi’s query not only attempts to elicit knowledge regarding the aforementioned predicament, but also implies that she wishes to eliminate all the agony personally, which explains her reluctance to have Shidou seal her powers.

Nia’s angel explains that the Spirit of Origin creates all Spirits, which is an immensely powerful Spirit that is nearly impossible to beat in a one-on-one battle. While the anime does not show the angel explaining Kurumi how she may be beaten, her later reaction suggests that she has discovered a way to breach the Spirit of Origin’s defenses. She can influence the conflict in her favor by using her talents that allow her to control time, and judging by her confidence, she knows it will succeed.
