Recap of Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 Episode 7

Delia has been entirely dedicated to looking after Dirk at the Cathedral since he came. She is concerned that he would get into trouble, so when he suddenly develops rashes all over his body, she becomes concerned. To Delia’s surprise, all of his symptoms vanish shortly after he consumes goat milk. Later, when Myne and her other associates arrive, they question Delia about all that has happened thus far.

While others exhale a sigh of relief when they realize Dirk is no longer suffering from any symptoms, Myne appears noticeably concerned, as if something is bothering her. Just a few moments later, Dirk begins crying again, and rashes form all over his body as Myne keeps a tight eye on him. The blue-robed priestess instructs Delia to feed him goat milk once more. This time, everyone is present to witness Dirk’s symptoms miraculously disappear right in front of their eyes. Myne’s associates are bewildered and unsure what is going on with him, but she has already connected the dots.

She asks Fran to set up a meeting with the High Priest as soon as possible so they can talk about what’s on her mind. Meanwhile, Myne speaks privately with Lutz and requests that he go to the forest and bring back as many tau fruits as possible. This will eventually come in in when treating Dirk. Myne meets Heidi and Josef after completing her responsibilities at the Cathedral to explain the results of their tests.

The blue-robed priestess informs them that they have successfully figured out how to make ink in a few specified hues. They next put them to the test on vorlin and trombe paper to see how successful they are. Unfortunately, the ink fades quickly, which disappoints Myne and her companions. The fact that blending the available colors generates black only adds to their dismay. However, when they realize that a mending agent can remedy their problem, they gain some confidence.

Meanwhile, Wilma transports Dirk to the orphanage to care for him. Delia, who wanted to care for him personally, seems a little upset not to be around him as much as she could—especially after he became ill twice in front of her. When Myne and Fran return to Dirk with her, she is surprised to discover that Wilma and other caregivers have been neglectful of him. Delia soon discovers that Dirk will be placed for adoption.

Season 3 Episode 7: Does Dirk Have the Devouring? Why does Ferdinand advocate for his adoption?

When Myne first learns about Dirk’s symptoms, she becomes extremely doubtful and begins to speculate that he is eating without telling anybody. When he suddenly develops a fever in front of her, followed by rashes all over his body, the blue-robed priestess knows there is no more question. The fact that the symptoms disappear after drinking goat milk only adds to her theory, so she promptly shares it with the High Priest, who concurs with her assessment.

When they measure Dirk’s mana, they are astounded to discover that he is at least on par with a powerful middle-class noble. Ferdinand believes that having so much mana means that his health would deteriorate quickly, and that if nothing is done, it will be impossible to save him. As a result, he advises that Dirk be adopted by a noble who will give him with the necessary stones to cleanse extra mana on a regular basis. It will ensure that he lives a long and healthy life.

However, Myne is concerned that the majority of adopted children are mistreated. The blue-robed priestess is overjoyed when Ferdinand explains that she, too, would be entitled to adopt him after she has begun living with Karstedt. Meanwhile, Myne intends to keep Dirk safe and, per the High Priest’s advice, promises not to notify anyone about his condition in order to avoid confusing matters further.
