Season 11 of AMC’s post-apocalyptic thriller ‘The Walking Dead’ concludes on a shocking cliffhanger, leaving the fate of countless Alexandrians unexplained. The ninth episode of the eleventh season, as well as the first of the season’s second half, begins with the aftermath of Leah’s hwacha fire, which is targeted at a herd of walkers and a few Alexandrians.

When Carver confronts Maggie and others, Daryl steps in to save them. They decide to coerce Leah into leaving Meridian safely by using Carver. Back in Alexandria, the windmill is still on fire, as walkers enter the survivors’ home.

Judith and Grace become stranded in a flooded cellar, with walkers waiting at the door to consume them. The dead enter the basement and approach the two girls, but Aaron arrives just in time to save them. He assists Judith and Grace in escaping through the window but becomes entrapped by the zombies. Aaron, with Lydia’s assistance, also manages to escape from the cellar after great struggle.

Back in Meridian, Daryl offers to return Carver alive in exchange for Leah’s permission to go without injuring them. She retrieves Carver via a covert sniper’s strike. When Leah asks the sniper to shoot at Elijah, Gabriel explains that the sniper is no longer alive. Daryl requests that Leah and her men lay down their weapons and leave. Maggie follows them in a passion and kills the two men while shooting at Leah, who is shot while running. Daryl follows the blood trail and alerts Leah, who is hiding, that they are leaving with the food supplies.

Do Daryl, Maggie, Gabriel, Alden, and Negan Return to Alexandria With Food Supplies at the End of The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 9?

Maggie forms a squad alongside Daryl, Gabriel, Alden, and Negan to raid Meridian for food supplies in the eleventh and final season of the show. Along with the constant menace of the walkers, the Alexandrians are on the verge of a life-threatening crisis due to a food scarcity. Maggie, Gabriel, and Negan enter Meridian to gather food supplies, using a herd of walkers as a distraction. The anarchy that breaks out among the Reapers, culminating in Pope’s death, makes it simpler for the Alexandrians to invade the community. Daryl’s assistance from within also aids them in completing their task.

Maggie, Daryl, and others slaughter a slew of Reapers who come their way. After establishing their control on the location by forcing Leah to evacuate, the crew gathers all of the food supplies accessible in Meridian and begins their journey back to Alexandria. However, the entire team does not return home to their families. Maggie returns to the church building where Alden has found refuge, only to find a walker instead of her companion. She realizes Alden was a walker because he was attacked by one. Maggie gathers her courage, murders him to end his misery as a walker, and burys his body nearby.

Negan also decides not to go back to Alexandria with Maggie and others. After their violent history, he recognizes he can never be Maggie’s ally. After witnessing Maggie’s wrath at Meridian, he understands that sticking with Maggie will jeopardize his life. He believes that if he trusts her, his life will be hung by a thread, and he accepts the risk that Maggie will kill him in a fit of wrath due to their turbulent history. As a result, he departs from the Alexandrians to be on his own. Maggie tracks down Gabriel, Daryl, and Elijah, and the four of them travel to Alexandria without Alden and Negan.

Why is the Commonwealth Army visiting Alexandria? Is Daryl going to join the Commonwealth Army?

The return of Daryl, Maggie, and others with food supplies provides enormous relief to the Alexandria survivors. The beautiful sky and the homecoming of a member of the family offer delight to a group of people who have persevered in the face of adversity. Their joy, however, is cut short by the arrival of the Commonwealth army, led by Eugene. Despite Alexandrians’ fears that the new visitors are another antagonist, Eugene emphasizes that they are exactly the opposite. The Commonwealth’s deputy governor, Lance Hornsby, explains why they are in Alexandria to give assistance in rebuilding the community.

Even when faced with multiple threats and obstacles at the same time, Alexandrians have always prevailed. Such a community does not fail to impress the Commonwealth, whose goals seem limitless. By assisting Alexandria, the Commonwealth may attempt to indirectly hijack the community in order to protect itself from the Alexandrians’ power. If anyone is interested, Hornsby also provides the community the opportunity to join the great Commonwealth army. Daryl accepts the offer and enlists in the military.

Given Daryl’s reservations with Gabriel earlier in the episode, the former’s choice to join the Commonwealth army comes as no surprise. Daryl is at a crossroads prior to the arrival of Hornsby and his army because he is doubtful of his own methods, decisions, and choices. Hornsby’s offer allows Daryl to alter his path and become more powerful and influential. Daryl’s relationships with the rest of the Alexandrians, however, may change as a result of his decision to become a trooper. Conflicts between him and his “old” companions are unavoidable as he leads his army to Hilltop against Maggie.
