Prakashan Parakkatte Movie Summary

Dasan, Prakashan’s son, is a 12th-grade student who is frequently absent from school. Instead of attending school, he spends his time in town with his close friend Anwar. When his little brother Akhil’s accomplishments and birthday are celebrated, he feels betrayed by his family. Meanwhile, he develops feelings for Neethu and pursues their connection. Dasan’s carelessness leads to his brother’s near-fatal accident. This, along with his failure in the final exam, caused changes in the way he lived his life.

Prakashan Parakkatte Movie Review

Prakashan Parakkatte, Dhyan Sreenivasan’s third screenwriting project, is a straightforward story about accepting someone for who they are while encouraging them to be the best version of themselves.

Though Dileesh Pothen plays the titular Prakashan, the movie focuses primarily on his son, Das (Mathew Thomas), a truant and a bit of a delinquent youngster. The first half of the film follows Das through his misadventures, young love, and friendship. It’s an empathic, though stereotypical, character portrayal. We meet his mother (Nisha Srang); his cute and artistically skilled younger brother Akhil (Rithunjay Sreejith) in a typical family.

When an accident involving the young brothers occurs in the second half of the story, we are taken on an emotional and relatable journey of how a family behaves and pulls together when put in a fatally difficult circumstance.

Dhyan’s scripting has improved with each effort. His first film, Goodalochana, was about friends and shenanigans, and it was followed by Love Action Drama, which focused on relationships before transitioning into family life with Prakashan Parakkatte. The film, expertly directed by Shahad, benefits greatly from the strong performances of all of the key characters, including a comedy role portrayed by Saiju Kurup and a minor role played by Aju Varghese. Dileesh, Mathew, Nisha, and Rithunjay, the four main characters, need to be praised for adding the right amount of emotion, comedy, and more to their roles.

The film treads dangerous ground in how it portrays teenage love, especially in these troublesome times when boys don’t know how to take no for an answer, with tragic consequences. However, the story’s conclusion is that parenting should be caring but firm. And the last message is thought-provoking; money is important, but it does not have to be the most important thing in life; each person must determine what is most important to them. The film’s title remains a mystery, and a last-minute explanation appears to be an afterthought.

Guruprasad does an excellent job with cinematography, which he is able to do in part because to the adorable setting of the house, which conveys an image of a troubled but loving family. The music of Shaan Rahman is wonderful, and the humorous Kannu Kondu Nulli, penned by Manu Manjith and performed by Jassie Gift, is sure to become popular.

Prakashan Parakkatte is a fantastic movie to watch with the family and learn a few things from.
