The anime is about a girl named Nanami who gains the rank of a Kami (Shinto Goddess). Nanami must now reconcile her duties as a human and a goddess in the magical world. She is joined by Tomoe, a fox spirit who protects her and stays with her at all times in his human form. This is the beginning of their interspecies love affair, but it will not be easy. Tomoe’s history and other spirits constantly strive to separate them and put their love to the test. But, in the end, love always triumphs, and it will in this case as well.

Matsuri’s grand objective is to have Yurie supplant the city’s indigenous god so that everyone flocks to his Shrine. But Yurie may have just gotten herself into a lot of trouble, since she now has to attend god meetings, hear the pleas of the “humans” around her, meet extraterrestrial species, grant the requests of those who look up to her, and lift the curses placed on the innocent. And, while she’s doing it, she has to go to school and try to catch the attention of her crush, Kenji.

It revolves around Hotaru, a 6-year-old girl who gets lost in the forest one day and meets Gin, a masked forest spirit. Gin guides her out of the forest and asks her not to return. The deity of a local shrine, moved by Inari’s kindness, gives her a desire. Though the goddess’s intentions are to bless her for her good deeds, this request just draws more difficulties into Inari’s life. To compensate, the goddess provides her the ability to transform into a shapeshifter, allowing her to be whatever she wishes to be. Inari now embarks on an odyssey in which she must avoid all undue attention from other supernatural beings while simultaneously gathering the confidence to proclaim her love to her high-school crush.

Yato is unlike any other god you’ve ever encountered. He is thirsty for attention and has no temples named after him as of yet. In times of need, his phone number emerges out of nowhere in red, and Yato God will come to one’s aid if they simply dial this number. Despite his efforts, only a few individuals are aware that he exists. He works for a lower-paying job like any other human being, and his helper eventually grows bored of his failures. She abandons him in his anguish, and Yato begins cursing his existence as a deity. But his fate changes one day when a girl named Hiyori saves him from a car accident and takes the hit instead. She survives, but her soul departs from her body. She insists that Yato aid her in returning to her human body, but in order to do so, Yato needs locate a new assistant. Yato and Hiyori embark on an adventure to find a new assistant for this ‘Stray God’ so that they can both have some good in their life once more.

9. Inu X Boku SS (2012)

Ririchiyo Shirakiin, a spoilt rich and extraordinarily petite 15-year-old girl, despises the fact that she is so reliant on her safe royal surroundings. She chooses to rectify that and leaves her opulent world behind to live in a house she obtains from her childhood pals. This property is known as the Maison de Ayakashi, and the socially awkward Ririchiyo quickly realizes that it is home to some rather weird creatures. Every creature that lives in that house is just half human. But these are only half of her issues; things become even more complicated when a handsome and yet highly clinging secret agent moves in with her. Does she have what it takes to thrive outside of her comfort zone, with a new school, a new town, and a slew of bizarre creatures? She agrees since she has no other choice, but upon landing, she finds a bizarre secret that the brothers have kept concealed from the rest of the world. Anyone who hugs a Souma is changed into a Zodiac animal. She must now learn to live with this and prepare for what is ahead in this entirely new magical realm she has entered. Misaki Ayuzawa is a competent Aikido practitioner who has been appointed as the first female council president in a school that had previously been a boys school but has recently been converted to a coed one.
