10 Best Werewolf TV Series on Netflix Right Now (2022)

10 Best Werewolf TV Series on Netflix Right Now (2022) – We all enjoy horror films and television shows, but nothing beats monster films and series, especially if the monsters are werewolves. There have been some truly terrifying werewolves in films, as well as some that are downright eerie. I’m not referring to the werewolves from the ‘Twilight Saga’ in either of the two; they were just something different (sorry Twilight enthusiasts!). But we’re looking at something worse and more ferocious, like an actual real monster.

After ‘Teen Wolf’ came out in 2011, the world of werewolves really started catching up with TV series, and as cliché as the name may sound, it was actually pretty good. However, it is still uncommon to have werewolves as the main protagonists in a film or television series; only a few succeed, while others cast them as supporting characters alongside vampires or other monsters. If you believe that werewolves deserve to be loved, you should watch these few Netflix shows that revolve around werewolves in some way. Here’s a selection of really good werewolf TV shows on Netflix that you can watch right now.

 Hemlock Grove (2013)

Eli Roth produces this show, which is based on a book by Brian McGreevy. It is based on the lives of the people who live in the Pennsylvania town of Hemlock Grove. No matter who lives in town, rich or poor, they all have weird secrets that they keep hidden from the rest. But then something happens that turns everything upside down, and everyone’s secrets are no longer secrets. Everything that had been hidden behind curtains until now is being revealed, and nothing is as it appears. This show is fantastic, but only if you watch it with patience. Only through absorbing the strangeness of the show and its characters, rather than repelling it all, will you be able to form an opinion about it.

 The Order (2019)

A college student decides to join a secret society, which leads him to a secret hidden world he was unaware of: a world where a battle is already raging between werewolves and black magic experts. Because of how predictable everything is, the show will initially make you roll your eyes. But as time passes, everything simply gets wilder and stranger, but that’s when it actually gets better as the plot begins to deepen. Even the actors do an excellent job of representing their roles. Also, it’s one of the most recent werewolf series to be released, so you’ve only missed out on season one till now. You still have time to catch up with this one before the next season begins, and everything just gets better from there.

 JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (2012 – present)

Okay, so this series (based on a Japanese manga) lives up to its name entirely and thoroughly. I mean, the headline literally states “bizarre.” Going into the series, you can anticipate it to be eccentric, odd, and magical. What you don’t expect is how much you’ll enjoy it. ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ is also darkly humorous, intelligent, and fantastical. It follows Jonathan Joestar (or JoJo) as he competes for possession of the Joestar fortune with his stepbrother turned vampire.

 Legacies (2018 – present)

Following the conclusion of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘The Originals,’ the CW expanded the TWD universe with another spin-off series, ‘Legacies.’ ‘Legacies’ follows the next generation of vampires, werewolves, hybrids, and witches as they all come together to learn the mystic arts at Mystic Falls’ The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Hope Mikaelson, the daughter of original vampire Klaus and werewolf Hayley, is at the heart of the story. The show also features a slew of other well-known and intriguing new characters, such as Alaric Saltzman’s twin daughters Lizzie and Josie. ‘Legacies’ is a coming-of-age show with supernatural beings that we like.

 Castlevania (2017 – present)

This is one of the best horror anime series available. It’s humorous, dark, smart, moving, and completely engrossing. ‘Castlevania’ is set in medieval Europe and follows the darkly inviting and exciting adventures of formerly disgraced hunter Trevor Belmont as he and his fellow hunters take down evil monsters, gradually closing in on Count Dracula and his legion of bloodthirsty vampires from destroying all of mankind. This animated series features the voices of Richard Armitage and Theo James, among others. If you enjoy mysticism and gloomy monsters such as werewolves and vampires, then ‘Castlevania’ is a must-see.

 The Vampire Diaries (2009 – 2017)

The extremely popular teen drama ‘The Vampire Diaries’ begins with a brawl between two vampire brothers — one nice and one wicked – as they compete for the love of the same girl. However, as the seasons progress, the program becomes deeper and darker, with magnificent arcs of sorrow, love, betrayal, fraternity, and redemption. The series takes place in the creepy town of Mystic Falls, which is home to vampires, werewolves, witches, and hunters. Damon, Stefan, and Elena’s intertwined love lives are engrossing, and you’ll have a hard time picking which brother to root for. Without a sure, the best moments in the show come not from romances, but from the bromance between two brothers who were formerly pretty close. Regardless of their differences, Stefan and Damon would murder or die for each other. Sure, the later seasons (just the last two) feel a little draggy, but the series ends with all the characters coming full circle in a satisfying way.

 Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018-2020)

Sabrina Spellman, a young witch, faces the ultimate option on her 16th birthday in ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.’ Sabrina soon finds that managing her half-witch, half-mortal nature isn’t as simple as it appears, when she is forced to choose between embracing her family’s fanciful world of witches and remaining in the human world with her friends. Furthermore, with evil from the witch world threatening her family and childhood friends, Sabrina utilizes her power to protect people she cares about. The television drama, which also features a slew of other strange creatures, even follows Amalia, a werewolf, as she faces her fate after meeting the adolescent witch.

 The Originals (2013 – 2018)

‘The Originals’ is a spin-off of the popular “The Vampire Diaries,” in which “the Original” vampire family returns to New Orleans to confront a threat that their eldest brother Klaus has encountered. The Mikelson siblings are the focus of the series. Klaus discovers that Hayley, a werewolf, is pregnant with his child, a miraculous magical child. To secure the baby’s safety, the siblings must combat all bad powers such as witches, werewolves, and other vampires that wish to kill the infant. This spin-off is at times better than the original program, and it also boasts a fantastic cast and setting. Unlike “The Vampire Diaries,” this show is not about coming of age and delves deeper into the characters and plot, making it darker than the original series. If you enjoyed ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ you’ll enjoy this one much more, and you’ll be surprised because it’s absolutely great.

 Sirius the Jaeger (2018)

This is an original Japanese animation series set in the Imperial Capital of 1930. It centres around a group of people known as the Jaegers, who arrive in Tokyo with strange hunting instruments to hunt Vampires. Yuliy, who has a distinct aura from the rest of them due to his werewolf status, joins forces with them after his village is devastated and burned to the ground by a horde of Vampires. Yuliy and the Jaegers fight against “The Arc of Sirius” together, each with their own reason for murdering the vampires. But there’s more in store for them. This movie’s plot is exactly what you’d imagine it to be, with fascinating characters and a lot of awesome action. But it’s still a lot of fun, and if you want action, gore, and vampires with some pretty interesting characters, this is the show for you.

 The Kirlian Frequency (2019)

‘The Kirlian Frequency’ is a bizarre show that has a creepy vibe about it. The plot centres around a DJ who broadcasts at midnight and tells stories from the outskirts of Kirlian, a lost land in Argentina. Most people are unaware of this series, which is hidden among the many others on Netflix, but those who have watched it realize that it is a gem. Each episode lasts about 10 minutes and offers a separate unusual story, with just one thing in common: the unknown city of Kirlian, which is inaccessible to normal people. The show is completely original and unlike anything else you’ve ever seen. If you enjoy short horror stories, you will undoubtedly enjoy this presentation.
